Live music show by the group The Mazookas (Germany)

The Mazookas are a group of Berlin-based illustrators and graphic designers who present their graphic art by playing popular music from Eastern Europe to West America. The Mazookas took their name from a quote by New Orleans jazz pianist Jelly Roll Morton, who pronounced traditional Polish folk dance “Mazurka” as “Mazooka”.
The group is inspired by early folk music libraries, such as the Library of the Congress and the Smithsonian Institute collection.
Just as the band members admire the genius of some self-taught visual artists, The Mazookas approach music as self-taught musicians. Their shows feature ambitious amateur musical skills, unusual instruments, humor, irony and a colourful and entertaining visual ensemble.
